The Snowman (Raymond Briggs)

A classic full-length animation adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman.

We searched high and low for the book at almost every bookstore in Singapore last year, before finding it tucked in a corner at Page One. A beautiful wordless book for every child irregardless of race or religion, with a sad but poetic ending.

Ooyah will grow to love this one.

  1. awww… black. i watched this till the end, and altho i anticipated the ending, i can’t help feeling a lil teary-eyed.. sobs.

i loved animations like this as a child. they don’t show these kinda cartoons anymore.

  2. You cry baby you. 😛

These days most animation take the form of cartoon characters mutilating or killing one another. Tempting acts for the adults but not really something you’d want your children to be exposed to.

Quite simply … the end of the innocence.

  3. eh i remember this book! page one has a good collection of children’s books, i lurrrve 🙂
