Lonely Grill (Lonestar)

AEON Tebrau City is to Johor what The Pavilion is to Kuala Lumpur. And we love the shopping centre, especially where food is concerned. Already tried out a few restaurants and cafes during our previous visits and on last Sunday, we checked out Sizzling Stonegrill.

Every single member of the family ordered a different item on the menu that came served on a hot sizzling stone. I decided to try their ostrich meat with prawns. Ostrich meat looks and taste somewhat like beef, but has a rather funky smell. Its supposed to be low in cholestrol, not that I care. πŸ˜›

The variety on the table included beef, mutton, chicken, salmon and scallops. The thing about eating on these hot stones, you can’t leave it grilled too long or the meat might just turn dry … as in the case of the salmon. Overall, it was a good experience though we could have held back a bit on the meat ordered. Price-wise it averaged about RM35 per item. Definitely cheaper than what you would have paid for something similar in Singapore. Furthermore, this one ‘Hala’ you know.

Apart from the gastronomical adventure one will be able to get in the shopping centre, there is quite a selection of clothes boutiques. Not Prada and the likes, but more towards the mid-end stuff like Naf Naf and TopShop.

Ooyah had a blast checking out the various kiddy rides next to the food court and also a play area of sorts. Chargeable entrance but Gymboree it’s not.

And what better way to end the night than to indulge in a few scoops of Baskin Robbins ice cream. I don’t care what anybody thinks of Ben & Jerry’s and other ice cream brands, when it comes to good old ice cream their 31 flavours is the way to go.

  1. I totally agree with you about Baskin Robbins. I only came to that conclusion recently after I had more than 1 scoop of ice cream from Baskin after so many years. Sarah looks so cute and sexy in her pink number.

  2. Baskin Robbins’ ice cream has more texture to the taste bud. The other brands are a bit too smooth for my liking. If I wanted them smooth, I’d go for a gelato instead.

    Yeahhh … bare-back pink number ooo … don’t play play! Hehehe …

  3. Tell me about it!!! Bare-back all…. Divya is sick of wearing her fully closed winter wear all the time. She can’t wait to come back to Singapore for a holiday and wear some ooohh-la-la outfits and hang out with her buddy, Sarah. Must keep an eye on those two.

  4. Both of them can wear bare-backs and go clubbing with their mommas … doing the helicopter dance. πŸ˜›

  5. I love Jusco Tebrau too!! Wish it was closer.

  6. The Malaysian city planners really know how to position their star shopping centres … always further than the average ones.

A collaboration with their local taxi providers perhaps? πŸ˜‰
