Cold Rock A Party (MC Lyte)

Within a week, we were back at Holland Village with Jarrod and Geetha. We had dinner at 211 Roof Terrace Cafe for a change, located at Holland Road Shopping Centre. The last time we were there was in the afternoon, so the atmosphere was a little bit more cooling this time around. The rooftop location is ideal for smokers, not that there was any puffing going on with Ooyah in tow. Perhaps due to my bout of flu, everything tasted bitter that night, though the rest weren’t complaining about their candle-lit meals. My favourite at the cafe is still their nachos with cheese.

We later stopped by this ice cream parlour called Cold Rock Ice Creamery, which caught our eyes the last time we were across the road at Haagen Daz’s. The Australian company basically offers a variety of ice cream that can be mixed with any of the available accompaniments that the customers fancy. There are peanuts, cookies, chocolate bars and even jellies, just to name a few. The chosen items would then be pressed and folded with the ice cream on an frozen platform before placing it in a cup.

We tried out one with waffles and chocolate chips which was a safer bet. It was alright but not entirely unique. Didn’t stay long in the place since one of their staff was talking so loudly that we weren’t sure if she was quarreling with her colleagues or the customers. I hope she’s hard at hearing and not talking like that all the time.
