My Funny Valentine (Miles Davis)

Never celebrated it my whole life … until last night. Actually it was more of a belated anniversary treat for Fadelinah since I didn’t have the time to do it while busy packing our things for the trip to Malacca.

On a whim, I decided to collaborate with Jarrod in his surprise Valentine’s Day treat for Geetha and Fadelinah. All kinds of venues were thought of only to be met with replies stating they were at full house when we called them up. Our preferences were for the ones in Sentosa and Fort Canning. It was more for the lack of choices that I finally made reservations at Marrakesh Moroccan Lounge & Bar. Anyway, it looked good online.

While Jarrod tricked Geetha into thinking that he had to pick up something from a vendor, I fooled Fadelinah into thinking that we were invited to a product launch. The looks on their faces were priceless when we met before heading to Clarke Quay and receiving their bouquets of roses. πŸ™‚

My verdict on our choice of restaurant?

The so-called ‘intimate souk-style alcoves’ hardly provided any form of privacy. The loud music played was neither ‘the chill grooves of jazz’ nor ‘sexy uplifting music’. Whereas for the food, let’s just say places like Cafe Le Caire and Banoo need not worry about losing business to this restaurant. Definitely not returning to this place and to add insult to injury, we saw loads of better restaurants down the same street when we left.

You win some, you lose some.
