Graduation (Vitamin C)

I guess no graduation day nowadays would be complete without hearing Vitamin C’s song played during the event. That’s precisely what happened when it accompanied a montage of images depicting the students passage towards their long-awaited day, at NTU’s Nanyang Auditorium.

It felt almost deja vu since it was slightly more than a fortnight ago that we were in the same venue watching hundreds of graduates go up the stage to receive their scrolls. The difference this time around, they had mortarboards firmly placed on top of their heads. Thankfully it didn’t last as long as the one we attended before, though speeches given by the various parties paled in comparison to those that gave inspirational ones during the Teachers Investiture Ceremony. No wonder the loudest cheer was given to the last graduate that went up the stage.

We found the food served during the reception for guests after the ceremony kind of bland, so made our way to Cafe Le Caire for an early dinner before dropping by The Esplanade for some pictures to be taken with Fadelinah in her graduation garb yet again.

Since I already had in mind a graduation gift of a holiday trip in the near future, the 2 plush toys that embarrassed me helped the Build-A-Bear staff prepare would have to do for the time being. A bunny in a graduate’s outfit complete with mortarboard and scroll in hand, together with another little bunny accompanying her. No prizes for guessing who they represent. πŸ™‚
