30 (Harry Connick Jr.)

Somebody just turned 30 and that haphazard colourful so-called banner was our little contribution to his party; something Fadelinah and I bantered about pertaining to the materials to be used for its design before finally doing it last minute using whatever materials available in our apartment, including a bit of Ooyah’s roll of easel paper. šŸ˜›

Fadelinah, Fizah, Ooyah and I arrived around 7pm last night and stayed for around 3 hours, enjoying the buffet spread and meeting a few of Jarrod’s family members and friends. The highlight of the event was the little live music performed by a few people, which I must say was pretty good. Not the typical karaoke standards you hear at some gatherings. Ooyah was generally well behaved throughout the whole thing, except during one of the songs performed by the in-house Cliff Richard. I had to bring her out of the function room for fear of the performer taking offence as Ooyah kept saying “Nak Alik! Nak Alik!”.

Even Fadelinah got into the act when Geetha asked to join her to perform one of their ‘hits’ from when they were performing in front of their JC mates. Ooyah for once, stopped asking to go home with eyes transfixed at her Mama singing in front of the guests. No pictures though since my mobile battery ran dead just before they performed.

Shortly after the cake cutting, we bade farewell and left with some door gifts.
