Alphabet Zoo (Ralph McTell)

I’m really getting the hang of it, just packing Ooyah’s stuff and head out together for an outing on a Wednesday, minus her Mama who’s usually in school. I guess she had a great time the last time we went to Jurong Bird Park and kept repeating in the morning “Ooyah nak tengok bird. Nak swimming.”. Never one to return to a place twice in a row, I opened up the Singapore Zoo‘s website and asked her if she wanted to see other animals instead while pointing to a few. I knew that a new children’s attraction and boat ride have been introduced this month and thought they were worth checking out. How quickly she changed her mind.

So a quick MRT ride to Choa Chu Kang station followed by a taxi ride and we reached the zoo at around 1 pm. We got a good 3 hours worth of sight seeing, including the return of the innocent white tigers that made headlines this month for causing the death of a zoo staff, before I noticed it started to drizzle. Not that the grey sky didn’t gave me an indication of things to come before we left our place. Luckily, we were near the food court and I thought it was timely that we had lunch while waiting for the rain to die down, which took more than an hour. By then, there wasn’t much time for me to bring her to the water playground nor take the boat ride, except for us to go for a tram ride and finish off with the last Splash Safari show for the day.

I guess another visit to the zoo is in order this month to finish what we’ve missed.
